Sales of Chinese poverty-relief platform hit 35 bln yuan

BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) — A Chinese e-commerce platform selling products from 832 counties lifted out of poverty has seen its sales exceed 35 billion yuan (about 5.09 billion U.S. dollars).

Over 300,000 kinds of agricultural products are available on the website fupin832.com as of the end of March, according to the China CO-OP Group. According to estimations, nearly 3 million rural families have benefited from the platform.

Efforts will be made to improve the quality of agriculture products by helping poverty-stricken areas cultivate and upgrade agricultural industries, said the platform.

Launched on Jan. 1, 2020, the platform is under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Rural Revitalization Administration, and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
